3.1.12 Sinking

From Chemical Spill Response
Jump to: navigation, search

If a ship has experienced an event that causes loss of buoyancy or stability, it can eventually sink. A sunken ship can pose a danger to ships and other users of the sea. Sinking in a shipping lane or in harbour approaches is the most severe such scenario. All the distress situations can result in sinking.
