4.7.2 Calculations

Jump to: navigation, search

The models mentioned in the previous paragraph compute many different co-dependent processes to obtain a result that is as accurate as possible. In the following paragraph, simplified calculations will be given for the most relevant processes. The results of these calculations are indicative.

Choice of the relevant processes

First of all, one must determine which processes are relevant for a certain substance. As mentioned before, this can be determined based on the SEBC. Table 18 shows the processes relevant for each of the SEBC classifications.

The numbers in the left column correspond with the numbers of the following paragraphs in which this calculation is discussed. For instance, Gas plume dispersal is explained in paragraph no. 4.7.2.

2 = Slick spreading

3 = Gas plume transport

4 = Gas plume dispersal

5 = Slick evaporation

6 = Evaporated/dissolved amounts

7 = Slick dissolution

8 = Dissolved plume transport

9 = Dissolved plume dispersal
