Jump to: navigation, search

This manual on chemical spill response is a product of the project “Chemicaliënbestrijding op het water”, sponsored by SIA RAAK MKB of the Dutch government. The contents of this manual have been developed by NHL University of Applied sciences, in cooperation and consultation with different parties.

First of all we would like to thank the project-participants that have attended meetings/workshops and/or have commented on the draft texts by emails. Specifically we would like to thank Jürgen Rühlmann of MCR Shipping for his work on personal protection and classification rules and regulations. His support was essential to making this manual.

We would also like to send special thanks to Dr. Douglas Cormack in his faithful work in editing the text.

Finally we would like to thank Hein Koops for his work on setting up the wiki web side of the chemical spill response manual

We are also very pleased with the pictures we received to dress-up the manual, picture courtesy and copyright can be found by each picture.

In addition, we would like to express our thanks to the students of our university that have helped put together the texts: Te ocean technology students, that have collected the detection techniques for lost packages. The students “maritime officer”, who have written the texts concerning the ship types. We also thank the students that have contributed towards the project in a sub project, such as: a new method for salvaging lost containers, chemical classification, unmanned measuring vessel and chemical transport in Dutch ports.
