This manual on chemical spill response is a product of the project “Chemicaliënbestrijding op het water”, sponsored by SIA RAAK MKB of the Dutch government. The contents of this manual have been developed by NHL University of Applied sciences, in cooperation and consultation with different parties.

First of all we would like to thank the project-participants that have attended meetings/workshops and/or have commented on the draft texts by emails. Specifically we would like to thank Jürgen Rühlmann of MCR Shipping for his work on personal protection and classification rules and regulations. His support was essential to making this manual.

The students “maritime officer”, who have written the texts concerning the ship types. We also thank the students that have contributed towards the project in a sub project, such as: a new method for salvaging lost containers, chemical classification, unmanned measuring vessel and chemical transport in Dutch ports.
