Gases are transported as liquids in a pressurized or refrigerated condition, which on release revert to the gaseous state. (Flash-evaporation).

Soluble Gases

Gases, which dissolve in water, may, nonetheless, form flammable/explosive mixtures with air above the water surface depending on their relative rates of evaporation and solubility. Such gases may also be toxic depending on exposure concentrations both in the air and in the water column.

Evaporators

Liquid substances having vapour pressures higher than 3 kPa usually evaporate very quickly. The vapour plumes formed from evaporators behave exactly the same as those originating from gaseous products in respect of concentration and subsequent dilution.

Evaporators/dissolvers

Substances which undergo evaporation and which dissolve in water are classified as evaporators/dissolvers. Their properties and behaviour are similar to gases/dissolvers.
