A manufacturer of a substance to inform the (professional) user about the precautions to be taken supplies a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

MSDS is the American version of the European International Chemical Safety Card (ICSC).

Chemical tankers are required to carry the MSDS’s for the substances they are transporting.

For a specific substance, the best way to find the MSDS is though the suppliers or manufacturers website. Most common substances are also found on general MSDS websites. For instance:
